Mistral AI unveils Robostral Navigate, its first robotics model
France's Mistral AI announced an 8B-parameter model that moves robots through unfamiliar environments using nothing but a single RGB camera and plain-language instructions. It scored a 76.6% success rate on the R2R-CE benchmark (validation unseen), beating approaches that rely on depth sensors or multiple cameras by 4.5 points. Training data was generated entirely in simulation — roughly 400,000 trajectories across 6,000 scenes. The model runs on wheeled, legged, and flying robots, and Mistral explicitly targets logistics, manufacturing, and delivery.
